I have thought about this blog a few times because of our family's reputation with our dog:-) I got Hartley for Brian for Valentine's Day our first year of marriage. Six years and 3 kids later...she is definitely not the top priority around here, but we do love her. Hartley likes to run the neighborhood about once a week when the boys let her out, usually to my frustration. MOST of the time she comes back, but not Saturday! Hartley got out about 10:30 a.m. and we could not find her. Sunday morning when we still couldn't find her we made some signs to hang around the neighborhood.
I immediately started getting calls saying:
-she ran 2 miles with us, but we didn't know where to take her
-she was in our front yard eating Halloween candy but we didn't know where to take her
-we saw her ____ but didn't know where to take her
(did I mention that we don't have a tag on her)
We finally got a call saying that Saturday afternoon Hartley walked through a dog door of a family's garage. They had turned their garage into a "Man Cave" and Hartley just laid down and never left! Brian went and picked her up and she was REALLY sore from all her running and really fat from all her candy. We are all so glad to have our sweet Hartley home! The boys think it's pretty funny that Hartley spent the night with a friend...as we put it:-)
