Weekend with Lolli & Champ

Making Gingerbread houses
The Christmas Parade
Haynes favorite food...for the moment!

Brian and I try to take a weekend shopping trip to Dallas each year after Thanksgiving, to do all of our Christmas shopping without kids!  This year we took our trip a little late, which gave me a week to get everything wrapped!  Our boys stayed with Lolli and Champ and had a great time.  We took Ella with us, but next year she will get to enjoy a weekend of fun!  The kids made cookies, gingerbread houses, went to the Christmas parade, and a ton of other things!

My favorite story from the weekend is from their first night.  My mom must have told Port when he woke up that they would make Christmas cookies.  (She must have forgot that if you get Port too excited for things before bed, he will wake up really early because he is so excited.)  So at 5:00 a.m. Port woke her up asking to make Christmas cookies!  She took him back to bed and said it was too early.  At 6:00 a.m. he woke her up again, yelling from his room!  She got in bed with him and told him it was too early.  He laid in bed and starred at her until 7:00 a.m. when she finally agreed to make Christmas cookies!
Haynes found a new favorite food during the weekend as well.  Lolli cooked dinner one night and made her Autumn Salad (www.recipesforlife.org).  Haynes liked the salad so much he would move the stool around the kitchen so that he could eat directly out of the bowl!
