First Pigtails!!!

Mommy and Ella
Ella's hair is just now getting long enough that I can try a few things with it. I bought her some hair ties today and decided I would just attempt to fix her hair. She did pretty good while being entertained by Daddy, Port, and Haynes. Isn't she cute with her little piggies!?!

Seed Sowers

A few weeks ago during house church Whitney and I did a lesson with the kids about the seed sower. We took some seeds in the backyard and actually let the kids throw them....
This weekend we were playing in the backyard and Brian made the comment that we have a really bad weed problem. I came to look at what he was talking about and couldn't stop laughing! The boys were so excited to see that we actually had "fruit" from some of our seeds! (a lot more "fruit" than Brian would probably prefer in our backyard!!!)
God is so good!!

Christmas Lights

ChRiStMaS LIgHtS
This year Brian had a little help with the Christmas lights:-) We have been using our hot tub with friends and students almost every night of the week so we decided to put lights in our back trees too! The boys loved climbing the ladder and "helping" Daddy:-) Haynes would probably add, "not Mommy...just Daddy!"

Thanksgiving/Christmas PJ's

Ella Rose that's quite a bow!
Josh, Jenny, and Port played an active game of basketball
Daddy and Haynes watching Charlie Brown's Thanksgiving

My mom is the queen of family traditions! We had a great Thanksgiving dinner (minus bread and macaroni/cheese to the kids and Josh's disappointment). This year my mom decided to go ahead and give us our Christmas pj's on Thanksgiving night. I think she prides herself in finding the most unattractive pj's for the adults, but we got some pretty fabulous house shoes out of it:-) I am so thankful for my family and the way the love my family so well. My parents have an amazing example of loving their kids so well. We don't know what we would do without them. Happy Thanksgiving!

Hartsock Thanksgiving

Mattie and Ellie...aren't they beautiful!!!

Hartsock Thanksgiving is always so much fun! We have so many cousins and friends its our kids dream come true. We are so thankful for our family and the legacy that has been set for us through MaMa and PaPa. We are so thankful to be surrounded by families that are running hard for Jesus. God has not only blessed Brian and me through our family, but our children are being shaped by these amazing families as well. We are so thankful!!!
Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving Day Golf

The boys were so excited to compete in the Wright Family golf championship this year. They woke up quite early on Thanksgiving morning to practice golf. Each year we have a family golf game to determine who will be the "Champions" and serve the other Thanksgiving dinner. The boys aren't quite old enough to compete in the real competition, so they play a few holes with my dad and Brian on Thanksgiving morning. I think my dad tried to convince them that they were all on the same team while they were on the course...but when they walked in the door they were proudly chanting "WE BEAT CHAMP!"
*I can't figure out were that competitive nature comes from:-)

Happy Birthday Lainey Beth!

Orange Tree with our buddies
We had to miss sweet Lainey's birthday party, so we celebrated today! Lainey and Port are great buddies, we are so blessed that God has blessed us with such great friends. Tonight when we were listing the things that we are thankful for both kids listed Lainey and Beau.
God is so good!

Music School Thanksgiving Feast

Happy Thanksgiving!
My Granma made this indian costume for Port a few years ago, so it was so fun for Haynes to get to wear it today! Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Thanksgiving with the Wright's

We have a pie making contest every year. I made a german chocolate pie that LOOKED awesome:-) When I went to cut into it the middle wasn't cooked at all...oops! Maybe I should work on my pie making skills...
Ella playing with Aunt Diana and Granma
This year my parents came up with a game for everyone to play after we ate lunch. They had frozen turkeys that you had to see how long you could hold over your head. The prize was tickets to the Warren Theater Balcony Seating and babysitters:-) Brian was REALLY sick, but I convinced him to at least try! Port got to hold a pumpkin instead of a turkey....we didn't win:-)
All members of my family trying for the prize. They all had turkey juice dripping on them...GROSS!!!

Jenny and Lily (Team 1), Hanna and Port (Team 2), and Diana and Haynes (Team 3)

Just another day...

My boys have started this wonderful habit of waking up at 5:00 a.m. They are awake and ready to play....there's no putting them back to bed! This is Haynes about 2:00 p.m. trying to sing a song on our way to pick up Port from Gingerbread. I keep telling them they need to sleep longer because they are going to be tired, I thought this was a great picture reminding them of how tired they really are:-) Anyone with recommendations on how to get them to sleep, I welcome with open arms!!!
Haynes has passed his love for apples onto his sister. When we go to the grocery store Haynes always insists on getting an apple and Ella now does the exact same. Ella also woke up this morning and went and found her hat...she's already picking out her own clothes?!?

Making Pies

We have Thanksgiving with my family tomorrow afternoon. A few years ago we started a "Pie Making Contest." I have won the "Best Looking" Category twice...never "Best tasting" (hope that doesn't mean anything) This year I decided to let the boys make some pies. Port chose Cherry Pie (probably because Boz loves cherry pie) and Haynes chose Apple Pie (he LOVES apples). They did an awesome job! Haynes decided to change to cherry pie after tasting Port's cherry filling. Ella really wanted to join in on the fun, so we just gave her some cooking utensils to play with...maybe next year!

HaYnEs

I feel like I could update our blog daily with Haynes stories, so here are some of my favorite things lately about our funny 2 year old.
-You never know what or when he is going to eat. This week he loved celery and peanut butter and of course made a huge mess!
-He has an awful habit of pooping in the bathtub...gross!
-He LOVES going to the grocery store. Every day he asks when we are going to the grocery store to see Lolli and Champ.
-Anytime he has to take off his clothes he punts his diaper across the room as well:-)
-He is our safety patrol...go figure?!? Every time we get in the car he makes sure everyone's seatbelt is on.
-He has too many one-liners to record. Every night he runs to the bathroom yelling "I do it myself!" (referring to brushing his teeth)
Love you Haynes Cole! We are beyond blessed having you in our lives!

OU Basketball

We ALL love ice cream!
We have had the opportunity to go to 2 OU basketball games this season so far. The boys LOVE it! We play basketball all the time at our house, so they really like seeing these college guys do the same thing. Ella has been pretty intrigued with the pom girls...must be in the blood:-) I went and got the kids ice cream and they were SO excited, especially Ella. She was so funny because she wanted to hold the spoon and do it by herself....only the beginning I'm sure!

We LOVE you Miss Whitney!

Miss Whitney left for Jordan this week for one month! She is getting to visit family, friends, and meet her sweet niece! We are so excited for her, but are already missing her dearly. We took her to dinner on Sunday night before she left. The boys have already started asking when she comes back so we are looking forward to our skype date:-) Love you Whit!!!

OU vs. Texas A&M

Our favorite boys
Lolli and Champ
scared of the fireworks for some reason

Brian and I took the boys to the OU home game last week. After Brian being gone all week we thought it would be a fun treat. We got to go tailgate with some of our favorite "Dudes" at their house before the game. We got to meet Emery and Colin's families and let the boys check out the dudes house:-) We had a great time at the game...Mom got a little cold, Haynes was a little scared of the fireworks at first, but other than that it was great!

Thanks Dad!

Brian brought the boys some airplanes home from his trip. They were both REALLY cool airplanes that the boys have loved playing with until I hear Port say, "Mom, I'm stuck!"

Port decided to stick the propeller in his cute hair, it didn't look too good initially:-) I thought we were going to have to cut it out of his hair, but thankfully we only lost a few hairs.

Bath time

The other night I put all the kids in the bath together and they had a blast! Ella would start to splash and then the boys would start laughing. When the boys stopped laughing she would start splashing again. This went on for about 10 minutes...they were so funny!!!

Brian's Out of Town...

Dinner with Primrose's, Billingsley's, & Osuna's
Movie Night with cousins
Early Mornings...everyone up around 5 a.m. this week!
Cooking with Lolli

This week Brian was at a conference in South Carolina. We had about 5 days to fill without Brian. We had a great week of going to the park, lunch with friends, dinner with friends and family. The kids were amazing and it was a great week. We are so excited for Daddy to get to spend a few days with some amazing men and be refreshed. We sure do miss you though....hurry home!!!

Chili's with the cousins!

Anna and Jade came to Norman for a few days. We all had dinner at Chili's on Saturday night. The kids just love being together! We are thankful for the times when ALL the cousins are here! Love you guys!
